Rep. Mike Quigley's Free Mortgage Fair (City of Chicago, NW Side)
Come take advantage of new government programs that can help you lower your mortgage payments, avoid foreclosure and keep your home.
Representatives from Rep. Quigley's office, HUD approved housing counselors, specialists, lenders, and a variety of other agencies will be on hand to answer questions and help resolve any difficulties homeowners may be having with their mortgage.
Homeowners can receive private, one-on-one housing counseling and helpful advice about foreclosure prevention, legal rights, mortgage refinancing and mortgage fraud. Polish and Spanish speaking HUD-approved housing counselors will be available at the event. In addition, homeowners can take advantage of new government programs, such as the Mortgage Relief Project, that can help lower their mortgage payments, avoid foreclosure and keep their home.
WHAT TO BRING:
Homeowners must be sure to bring ALL of the following documents:
Last two (2) months pay stubs for all wage earners/household members with income
Last two (2) months bank statements. All pages of bank statements must be submitted
Last two (2) years W-2’s for all sources of income
Last two (2) years federal tax returns
Signed IRS Form 4506T (form can be obtained at the event)
Complete and accurate household budget
Recent mortgage statement
Most recent foreclosure papers (if applicable)
If receiving government benefits, please remit current award letter (including unemployment benefits)
If receiving child support, please remit copy of current order
A valid state ID or driver’s license
